[R37 Christmas Party] Don't Jump Snowboy!

edited December 2016 in SotA Stories
image

A SotA Yule Children's Story.... not so much...

Don't jump Snowboy!
You can't fly.
It's too high to fall.
You'll make Snowmommy cry.

Our bodies are soft,
Not made for jumps.
There'll be nothing left of you,
Except a few small lumps.

Snowdaddy's here,
Waiting just below,
But his arms are worthless sticks
That cannot help you slow.

We are magic, yes,
A wizard's little pets,
But that bastard left us weak,
Unsafe from falling threats.

Snowlife is hard,
Like the icy ground.
We must stick together,
Before the spring comes 'round.

So don't jump snowboy!
Last another day.
You must wait like all of us,
Until we melt away.

Yes that's it,
So now you know it all.
I guess that I will follow you
And join you in your fall!

  • Lovely poem!

I can't help thinking though that the last part is superfluous:

    Yes that's it,
So now you know it all.
I guess that I will follow you
And join you in your fall!

I think it would be better to end it with "Until we melt away."

  • I fixed the last two stanzas so they are incorporated more smoothly....

    No more games,
    Last another day.
You must wait like all of us,
    Until we melt away.

    So don't jump snowboy!
    Now you know the truth.
On second thought I'll follow you
And join you on the roof.
  • I love this one. Your writing makes the world a better* place, Vyrin.

albeit in this case slightly darker :)
